CARNE ASADA STREET TACO

Carne Asada Tacos are soft corn tortillas filled with juicy, tender, grilled Carne Asada. Topped with diced onion, cilantro and crumbled queso fresco or mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

3 -6 lbs flank steak
1 cup orange juice
0.5 cup lime juice
1 bunch cilantro diced
4 tbsp garlic minced
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp ground cumin
2 tbsp paprika
2 tsp ground black pepper
16 flour or corn tortillas
0.5 cup cilantro diced
1 cup white onion diced
1 cup queso fresco crumbled or mozzarella cheese
(optional)

pickled onions
avocados

Directions
  1. Make the carne asada marinade by mixing together all the ingredients.
  2. Coat the flank steak with the marinade, top with sliced oranges and onion. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to overnight.
  3. Remove the oranges, onion, and excess marinade.
  4. Grill the meat to desired temperature: Rare: 115℉ -120℉ Medium Rare: 120℉ – 125℉ Medium: 130℉-135℉ Well Done: 140℉ – 145℉.
  5.  Remove the meat from the grill. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Chop meat into small 1/4 inch cubes.
  6. Layer the corn tortillas and fill with chopped meat.
  7. Top with diced onion and cilantro and crumbled queso fresco or mozzarella cheese.
